Marblehead Elm Street Drainage Project Begins This Week
The project is expected to last about six weeks with occasional lane closures and detours as necessary.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead residents and commuters are asked to avoid the area of Elm Street for the next six weeks beyond necessary business with work set to begin Monday on the final phase of the Pleasant Street Drainage Project.
The Marblehead Department of Public works said construction will run Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the possibility of some Saturday and early evening work. The goal is to complete the project prior to the onset of severe winter weather.
The DPW said "every effort will be made to keep one lane open" but added that there may be days when that is not possible. Efforts will be made to provide advanced notice of any complete shutdowns.
