Marblehead High School Ranked Among MA's Best

The school received an "A" grade for academics, teachers, and clubs and activities, according to the latest Niche rankings

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead High School was ranked as one of the 50 best in Massachusetts, according to the newest Niche rankings.

Niche said its rankings, now in the 10th year, differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also includes input from students, alumni and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources and facilities.

Marblehead High was ranked No. 50 and was the third-highest-ranking school on the North Shore behind Lynnfield (No. 36) and Manchester-Essex (No. 49). The Massachusetts Academy of Arts and Sciences was ranked No. 1 in the state, followed by Weston, Lexington, Boston Latin and Brookline.

Marblehead High earned an "A" grade for academics, teachers, clubs and activities. It earned a B+ for college prep, a B- for diversity and a C+ for administration.

It was ranked No. 20 out of 417 schools as in best schools for athletes, and No. 44 out of 358 for best schools for teachers.

According to Niche, 68 percent of Marblehead High students are proficient in English and 58 are proficient in math. Thirty-one percent of students are enrolled in Advanced Placement courses and the school has a 98 percent graduation rate.
