Marblehead Road Closures, Parking Restrictions For July 4
Marblehead police announced the restrictions for the Horribles Parade, Festival of Arts and fireworks.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — The Marblehead Police Department announced a series of parking restrictions and road closures ahead of the July 4 event throughout the town.
Restrictions will be in place for the Horribles Parade, Festival of Arts and the Harbor Illumination fireworks.
Pleasant Street will be closed starting at 6 a.m. for the Horribles Parade. The closure will be between Spring Street and Washington Street with Spring Street one way Pleasant Street to Sewall Street.

Essex Street will be closed entirely during the parade.
Front Street will be closed beginning at 7 p.m. for fireworks pedestrian traffic. There will be no parking between Franklin Street and Fort Sewall Lane.

Franklin Street will be one way from Front Street to Washington Street.
Washington Street is one way from Franklin Street to State Street.
After the fireworks, traffic from State Street, Pond Street and Franklin Street will be directed to Mugford Street and Green Street to Lake Shore Drive. The MBTA route will follow its alternate route from 6 to 11 pm.
The Festival of Arts will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Washington Street is closed between Rockaway Street and Darling Street.
Both Rockaway Street and Darling Street will remain open to traffic.
Hooper Street will be closed between Tucker Street and Washington Street.
Mason Street will be closed between Tucker Street and Washington Street.
There will be no parking on Washington Street between Rockaway Street and Darling Street from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Police said violators will be towed.
The Harbor Illumination is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. when flares are lit all around the perimeter of the harbor, creating a ring of light that sets the stage for the main event at 9:15 when the fireworks are launched off a barge at the mouth of Marblehead Harbor, which creates ideal viewing opportunities for the public from the parks at Fort Sewall, Chandler Hovey Park, and Crocker Park, as well as from boats.
