Marblehead trick-or-treaters will be taking to the streets and sidewalks amid what could be near-record warm temperatures on Thursday.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead trick-or-treaters will be taking to the streets and sidewalks amid what could be near-record warm temperatures on Thursday.

Marblehead has set the official trick-or-treating hours for between 5 and 8 p.m.

Marblehead police advise those on the trail of treats to wear reflective clothing, double-check all candy and treats for safety, and always walk in a group or with an adult.

Drivers should be on the lookout for children in the streets during trick-or-treat hours with inexperienced drivers discouraged from being on the roads at those times.

Parents and guardians are advised to closely inspect all candy collected for tears in packaging and other substances that can often closely resemble candy.

Those who do not wish to take part in trick-or-treating should shut off their outdoor lights with residents asked to respect their property.

There should be a summery feel to the spooky night with temperatures challenging the all-time record of 81 degrees in Boston during the afternoon and remaining in the 70s through trick-or-treating in the early evening hours.
