Marblehead Veterans Middle School Students Collect Toys For Tots Donations

Students collected more than 100 toys through the Cornerstones Club student leadership club.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Marblehead Veterans Middle School students were able to collect more than 100 toys for distribution to those in need across the North Shore through the school's Cornerstones Club student leadership group.

Toys were donated at a local Toys for Tots collection center.

"It is wonderful to see our students understand that there are things bigger than themselves, and leading with kindness and empathy," Acting Principal Julia Ferreira said.

The Cornerstones Club stresses service, community, spirit and fundraising and offers seventh- and eighth-grade students the chance to build leadership skills.

In the past, student fundraisers helped families affected by the Boston Marathon bombings, tsunamis and other community needs on the North Shore.
