Marblehead's Pleasant Street Closed Due To 'Large-Scale Digging'
Detours were expected to be in place until 5 p.m.

MARBLEHEAD, MA — Many Marblehead residents could expect a hard time heading around town on Wednesday because of "large-scale digging" on Pleasant Street.
The work was scheduled for between Village Street and Prospect Street with the road closed in both directions.
Emergency vehicles, the MBTA and large trucks were allowed to pass.

Marblehead police said businesses could remain open in that area with officers helping residents, businesses and customers at the roadblock.
The road was expected to last until 5 p.m.

Inbound Pleasant Street traffic was diverted toward Rowland Street and Prospect Street. Outbound Pleasant Street traffic was to be detoured on Village Street to West Shore Drive.
Traffic on Village Street traveling towards Pleasant will only be able to turn left and head inbound onto Pleasant Street towards downtown.
Those needing to access Vine Street and Veterans School were advised to expect delays and to reach that area from the Pleasant/Village intersection.
