Meet Marblehead's Biggest Political Donors
The town's biggest political donors all favor U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton, who grew up in Marblehead.
MARBLEHEAD, MA — A financial planner from and his wife contributed more to federal candidates and political action committees than any other Marblehead resident in the current election cycle. Henry and Susan Livingston contributed a total of $38,329, with Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA), a Marblehead native, being the biggest beneficiary.
By comparison, all 3,836 contributions originating from Marblehead's 01945 zip code totaled $256,532.77, meaning the Livingst0n's accounted for nearly 15 percent of all federal political contributions between Jan. and June 30 of this year.
According to Federal Election Commission data, Susan Livingston, a partner at Brown Brothers Harriman in Boston, contributed a total of $27,474 in the current cycle, including:

- $5,600 to Rep. Joseph Kennedy III (D-MA)
- $5,000 to the 4 MA PAC, the leadership PAC Kennedy formed in 2013.
- $5,600 to Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA)
- $5,600 to Moulton's Congressional campaign
- $5,600 to Moulton's presidential campaign
Her husband, Henry Livingston, contributed a total of $10,855, including four donations to Moulton totaling $5,600 and $5,000 to the Investment Company Institute PAC, which lobbies on behalf of investment companies. In the 2016 PAC cycle, ICI donated $1.94 million, with 66 percent going to Republican candidates and 34 percent going to Democrats.
The Livingstons have a history of political activism. In 2016, Susan Livingston made $206,735 in political contributions in 2016 and $93,306 in 2012.

The next biggest donor in Marblehead was also a Moulton supporter. Brookwood Financial founder Thomas Trkla made four contributions totaling $13,600. The contributions included $5,400 to Moulton's leadership fund PAC, $2,800 to his presidential campaign and $2,800 to his congressional campaign. Trkla also $2,600 to Serve America, Moulton's PAC which supports veterans running for office.
