MARBLEHEAD, MA — Beacon Restaurant and Warwick Cinemas owner Curt Havens is reviving the Marblehead holiday drive this season in honor of his late brother, Michael, who ran the drive in conjunction with the Marblehead Fire Department and Gerry 5 for several years before he passed away.

Havens said he and partners Johnny Ray and Edgar Alleyne are reviving the drive to honor Michael and to commemorate their ownership of the restaurant and cinema as of May 2024.

There will be a toy drive evening on Dec. 12 at The Beacon as well as several donation boxes across town.

Havens said they are seeking unwrapped toys that will be distributed with the assistance of Tim Cronin and the Marblehead Fire Department.

Donation boxes are at The Beacon, Warwick Cinemas, Shubie's, Mud Puddle Toys, Gerry 5, the VFW and the Council on Aging. Mud Puddle Toys is offering a discount for those donating to the drive.

More than two dozen Marblehead merchants have donated gift cards for a raffle on Dec. 12 at The Beacon where Santa Claus will also be appearing to take photos with families.

Havens said he is hoping to match the 500 toys that his brother collected during his toy drives.

The Dec. 12 event will also include musical guest Funbucket from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m.

Reservations are available for that night by calling The Beacon at 781-631-0180.
