YMCA of Metro North Announces 2025 Honorees Kevin and Dee Colcord

Marblehead residents recognized for their transformative support for youth at the Demakes Family YMCA in Lynn.

The YMCA of Metro North is proud to announce Kevin and Dee Colcord of Marblehead, MA as the recipients of the 2025 Community Compass Award, in recognition of their exceptional leadership, generosity, and dedication to advancing the mission of the YMCA of Metro North.

The Community Compass Award is presented annually to individuals, businesses, or groups whose vision and commitment have strengthened the YMCA and the communities it serves. Kevin and Dee’s leadership has been instrumental in the expansion of the Demakes Family YMCA in Lynn and in developing signature initiatives such as the Rooftop Garden and the Music and Performing Arts Center, which is set to open in fall 2025.

“Kevin and Dee embody the spirit of innovation and community impact,” said Kathleen Walsh, President and CEO of the YMCA of Metro North. “Their thoughtful approach, collaborative leadership, and deep belief in the Y’s mission have helped shape transformative projects that will benefit generations of children and families. It has been a privilege to work alongside them.”

The Colcords will be honored at the YMCA’s Where in the World annual celebration on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Boston Marriott in Peabody. As the organization’s largest fundraising event of the year, the evening brings together hundreds of community and business leaders in support of programs that make the YMCA’s services more accessible to all.

“In our experience, one can’t find a better nor more effective community service organization than the Demakes Family YMCA. Their impact and reach are incredible! It has been our pleasure to be engaged with the volunteers, staff, and members over the past eight years and have been thrilled to see many compelling improvements come to life,” says Kevin Colcord.
