100 Years Ago: Crayons Ordered for State Primaries

Sept. 20, 1911: New Rules For Primaries: Each Voter Must Name Party Before Receiving Ballot
City clerk P.B. Murphy is making extensive arrangements for the state primaries which will occur Tuesday, Sept. 26. Monday he received a large invoice of crayons to be used in marking the ballots, and this week will get about 12,000 ballots from the office of Secretary of State A.P. Langtry.
