100 Years Ago: Marlborough Boy Drowns in Tragic Accident

Six days a weeks Marlborough Patch will highlight an interesting story from the Marlborough Daily Enterprise published on that date 100 years ago.

June 6, 1911: Marlboro Boy Falls From Boat: Gerald Gore, 11 Years of Age Drowned While in St. Peters, N.S.

Gerald Gore, 11 years old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Gore, 50 Witherbee St., was drowned by falling from a boat at St. Peter's, N.S., where he went in company with his mother and brother to pass his vacation. Mr. Gore, who is baggagemaster and spare conductor on the B. & M. railroad, received a dispatch saying that the boy was very ill and to come at once.
