5 Things You Need to Know Today: Sept. 2

Here is a list of things going on in and around Marlborough today.

3. The women's business council of the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce will meet a week from today at the , 123 Boston Post Rd. 4. Foundation for MetroWest announced recently that they are seeking applicants for the 2011-2012 Youth Action Council. The Council is comprised of sixteen participants from around the MetroWest region and is part of the Foundation’s Youth in Philanthropy Program. Applicants must be of high school age and able to travel to the Foundation for MetroWest offices in Natick for regularly scheduled evening meetings. Youth Action Council is a hands-on program that teaches high school youth the fundamentals of grant making, giving back to the community, and the nonprofit world. Application materials can be found online at www.FoundationforMetroWest.org. The deadline to apply is Thursday, Sept. 29. 

5. The has teamed up with the for a food drive running now through Friday, Sept. 9. The Food Bank is in dire need of food to stock the shelves as donations have been very scarce as of late. The donation box will be Located in the front lobby of police headquarters, 355 Bolt
