1. The National Weather Service says today will be mostly-cloudy with a high of 73 degrees.
2. The Boston Business Journal has published an article detailing Marlborough Airport's lawsuit against the Secret Service claiming that President Obama's visit to the city in 2010 caused nearly $700,000 in damage to the runway. 3. The Marlborough office of the Better Business Bureau is warning businesses about misleading mailings they may receive from Compliance Services, a business based in Boston. Several states, including Massachusetts, Georgia, Ohio and Indiana, have issued warnings regarding the business’ deceptive mailings. Compliance Services has an F Rating from BBB. 4. Vestas Technology R&D Americas, Inc. in Marlborough was approved by the governor's office yesterday to receiving funding. This project will be the North American research hub for electric power generators for Vestas, a Danish company and the global leader of wind turbines. The project has two parts. In the first they will lease an existing building for offices. In the second, they are purchasing adjacent property and plan to construct a R&D complex. Vestas will be creating 66 new jobs, retaining 33 jobs and making a private investment of $16,605,000. The EACC awarded the company $428,400 in EDIP-ITC and the City of Marlborough granted a 10 year TIF in the amount of $1,656,031.
