5 Things You Need to Know Today: Sept. 9
Here is a list of things going on in and around Marlborough today.

1. It shoud be a nice day in Marlborough tomorrow with partly-sunny skies and a high of 78 degrees, says the National Weather Service.
2. The second annual Schartner Farm’s Family Fun Day at the Farm to benefit the new Cancer Pavilion to be built at will be Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Attendees can enjoy hay and pony rides, a magician, pick apples, pumpkins and raspberries and the three-and-a-half acre “farm theme” corn maize. Corn Maize admission prices are ages 12 and up $9; ages 4 to 11 $6, children under age 3 are free. Schartner Farms are located at 211 West Berlin Road, Bolton. 3. OARS, the watershed organization for the Assabet, Sudbury and Concord rivers, will hold its 25th Annual River Cleanup on Saturday Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to Noon in Marlborough. OARS volunteers will continue the effort to restore the Assabet, Sudbury and Concord rivers and local streams by removing trash from the shores and waters. They will haul trash, tires, bottles, car parts, bicycles – whatever should not be there – for appropriate disposal. Details and meeting locations will be available on their website. 4. Today is the final day you can bring food donations down to the , which has teamed up with the Marlborough Food Pantry. The Food Bank is in dire need of food to stock the shelves as donations have been very scarce as of late. The donation box will be Located in the front lobby of police headquarters, 355 Bolton St.
5. The City of Marlborough will be holding a memorial ceremony in remembrance of the events which occurred on Sept. 11, 2001. The ceremony will be held on Sept. 11, 2011 at the Walker Building, 255 Main St., and will commence promptly at 9:58 a.m. for a full story on the upcoming event.
