MARLBOROUGH, MA — This could be the largest attempted fragrance and lotion heist in Marlborough history.

Local police are looking for a woman who they believe lifted $1,200 worth of perfumes, sprays and lotions from the Macy's at the Solomon Pond Mall on March 28.

Mall security guards tried to stop the woman — "security was quick to jump on the scent," police remarked in a Facebook post — but she bit one of them on the shoulder and got away. In the tussle with security, she dropped the sweet smelling merchandise, and a purse with drugs inside, police said.
