Explosion, Fire Damages Commercial Building In Hudson: Police

One person was injured in the explosion and fire that happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

HUDSON, MA — The police and fire departments are investigating an explosion and fire that damaged a commercial building and left one person injured.

Hudson firefighters responded to the 106 Forest Ave. building at around 11:30 a.m. Monday after a report of an explosion. They arrived to find the building on fire.

"Upon arrival, crews observed fire and heavy smoke coming from the structure and Hudson Fire requested a full department recall, activating all off-duty members," the department said in a news release.

The injured person was taken to a local hospital. The commercial building is home to a construction company and a realty company.

The Hudson Fire Department, state police and the state Fire Marshal are investigating what caused the explosion and fire.
