Marlborough Brings Back Labor Day Festival For 2024
The Labor Day festival will take place before the traditional Marlborough parade, one of the largest in New England.
MARLBOROUGH, MA — Marlborough's annual Labor Day celebration will be a little bigger in 2024: the city is bringing back the Labor Day festival, which will take place a day before the parade.
Mayor Christian Dumais promised to bring back the festival during his inauguration speech in January. The festival will feature performances, activities for kids, food trucks, a beer garden and more. The festival will take place along Main Street on the Sunday before the holiday.
The Labor Day parade in 2024 will return to its Main Street route this year. In 2023, the parade detoured around the downtown area along Granger Boulevard due to construction.

“The Labor Day Parade is a treasured, 70+ year tradition here in Marlborough. I have fond memories of putting my chair out the night before, seeing my brother walk with Pop Warner, watching the first fire truck come down Main Street, and so much more. The festival was also a huge part of Labor Day Weekend when I was growing up. It was my goal to bring back the festival, so future generations can have those same great experiences and memories,” Dumais said in a news release.
The city has also updated the website for the weekend-long event. Local groups wanting to either participate or help sponsor the celebrations can visit the site for details.
