MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Marlborough couple has hit the big leagues: one of their TikTok videos will feature Friday night on “The Greatest #AtHome Videos” on CBS, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer.

The video, created by professional social media content creators Maybelline and Christian Perez, is a response to a popular TikTok challenge called “Run and See Who Your Kid Chases” that invites parents to gather up their young kids, and then run in different directions to see which kid chases which parent.

Maybelline and Christian tried it a few times with their two daughters, Adryani, 6, and Alexia, 3, to varied results. It has since attracted over 1.5 million views.

The couple started creating videos full-time in December after more and more of their videos went viral. Their TikTok account “Love So Real” boasts 4.8 million followers and a total of 134.7 million likes. While TikTok is their most popular platform, “Love So Real” also boasts popular channels on YouTube (34.7k subscribers), Instagram (154.k followers) and Facebook (3k followers.)

This popularity has allowed Maybelline, a 31-year-old lifelong Marlborough resident who used to work at UMass Memorial-Marlborough Hospital, and her husband Christian, a 34-year-old who used to be a warehouse supervisor, to quit their jobs and make videos full time, according to the MetroWest Daily News.

A few years ago, they began filming themselves on YouTube, and even though they started small, “something just kept telling us ‘Keep going, keep going,’” as Maybelline told the Daily News. Their channel slowly started taking off, especially once Christian started dressing as “Maybelline 2.0” in full drag.

A few months ago, a CBS producer reached out to the couple to use one of their videos. The first video wasn’t accepted, but the producers asked the Perez’s to film another, and soon their daughters were chasing them all over the house.

“Our goal is to just be able to make people laugh and smile through our content worldwide,” Maybelline told the Daily News. “That’s honestly our ultimate goal, and everything that comes along with it is just another blessing to us.”

The program will air Friday at 9 ET on CBS.
