Marlborough Man Charged With Injuring Two Lowell Officers
Arraignment scheduled for Monday

LOWELL -- A Marlborough man was charged with striking a Lowell police detective Friday night when he attempted to arrest the driver wanted on warrants, The Sun reports.
The unidentified detective was allegedly knocked to the ground after Darryl Buchannan, 54, of Marlborough, put the car in reverse and struck the officer on Chapel Street, according to reports.
Buchannan allegedly drove off, hitting other cars along the way, police told The Sun.

The suspect was stopped and arrested on Merrimack Street.
A female passenger, Katy Cody, 28, of Lowell, was also arrested at the scene on a warrant.

The detective was transported to the hospital and released later Friday with unknown injuries
Another detective cut his hand on glass when arresting Buchannan, the newspaper reports. The second detective was also treated and released from the hospital.
Buchannan was wanted for default warrants.
Buchannan will be arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court charged with: two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, failure to stop for a police officer, leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury, operating under the influence of drugs, operating to endanger, operating without a license, and possession of Class B drugs (crack cocaine).
