It seems impossible that it has been 10 years since that bright, late summer Tuesday morning.
By 10 a.m. on that day most people in this country were at their jobs, but no one was working. We all watched in disbelief and confusion, then in fear, anger and despair as we began to understand what was unfolding before our eyes. While some were stunned or mourning, others demanded retaliation; And while some were reserved in their response, others sprung into action through volunteerism or even .
Ten years later, we can look back and see the full scope of the impact this event has had on our nation and its people. We are in two wars, the culprit has been (recently) killed, the reconstruction effort at Ground Zero has begun, and countless communities across the country will set aside time this Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 to remember the victims and thank the heroes that were made that day.
