Prescribed Burn Scheduled For Marlborough-Sudbury Line
A prescribed burn is set for a portion of the Desert Natural Area along the Sudbury-Marlborough line later this week.
MARLBOROUGH, MA - A prescribed burn is set for Thursday and Friday of this week (March 27-28) along the Marlborough-Sudbury line, according to the Sudbury Valley Trustees.
The burn is part of a long-term habitat restoration project at the Desert Natural Area and Memorial Forest. Portions of the trail will be close during the days of the burn. A map of those trails can be viewed at this link here.
This is the second prescribed burn conducted at the site. In 2014, the first one covered roughly 14 acres. Since then, project partners have cut, thinned and removed trees in preparation for the second burn.
