Soccer Dispute Leads To Machete Attack In Marlborough
A Marlborough man was arrested following the attack at a home along Broad Street, according to police.

MARLBOROUGH, MA — A Marlborough man is facing multiple charges after he attacked another man with a machete during an argument over a soccer game, according to police.
The Sunday incident at a Broad Street home began just before 9:30 p.m. when police responded to a call about a stabbing. Police arrived to find a victim with a deep wound to his forearm.
According to police, Abel Hernandez, 40, got into an argument with several other residents at the end of a soccer game they had watched. Hernandez grabbed a machete and began attacking the victim, who put his arm up in a defensive move, police said.

Hernandez fled the home, but was caught and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, mayhem, possession of a class B drug and for having multiple open warrants.
