-25 Wind Chill, 1-3 Inches of Snow for Cape Cod

Wind chill values will plummet into "life-threatening" territory on Cape Cod this weekend. Also, 1-3 inches of snow is on the way.

Friday night’s forecast calls for 1-3 inches of snow after 8 p.m. The arctic blast will hit Saturday afternoon, when 40 mph wind gusts will push wind chill values down to -25 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

“Frostbite (can) occur in 10 minutes or less on exposed skin,” NWS said in a statement. “Never venture outside without wearing gloves, a hat, and several layers of clothing.”

  • TEMPERATURES THIS WEEKEND WILL FALL BELOW ZERO SAT NIGHT INTO EARLY SUNDAY MORNING ACROSS MOST OF THE REGION
  • THE CORE OF COLD AIR ARRIVES SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND THEN SETTLES OVER THE REGION SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY. BITTERLY COLD WINDS WILL EASE SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY BUT ACTUAL AIR TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN VERY COLD.
  • NORTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH WILL RESULT IN WIND CHILL VALUES BETWEEN 15 AND 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO...WITH THE COLDEST VALUES ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN WHERE 30 DEGREES BELOW ZERO WIND CHILLS ARE POSSIBLE!
