Beetlebung Coffee House Moves to Menemsha

The Vineyard Haven coffee house of seven years heads up-Island into space next door to their retail shop in Menemsha

, located for seven years on Beach St. in Vineyard Haven, will move to 24 Basin Rd. in Menemsha, into the location of the previous Menemsha Cafe. The Coffee House joins Beetlebung’s retail store of three years at that location.

Owners Renee and John Molinari say ever since they started designing Island- inspired clothing they have wanted to unite the Coffee House and retail business at one location.

“We’re excited to be able to bring the two together in the fishing village of Menemsha  - a terrific fit for Beetlebung,” said Ms. Molinari.  “Our designs relate to the sea, including our first design the Rorschach Lobster - several of our most popular menu items do, too, like 'the Quitsa,' our crab melt Panini - and our name comes from that part of the island as well.”

The Vineyard Haven coffee house first opened for July 4th 2005 and quickly earned a reputation for its high-end espresso drinks, professional Baristas and texture-rich environment from counters made of reclaimed shipyard wood to thoughtful eclectic playlists.

“The new coffee house will resemble the original coffee house in look, feel and taste, with some new twists,” Molinari added.

In addition to its coffee drinks, Bungaccino (an espresso Ghirardelli shake), smoothies, fresh squeezed lemonade, Eggwich and Panini, Molinari said Beetlebung Menemsha will also offer a variety of island-grown salads and gourmet wraps geared to boaters and beach goers.

Mr. Molinari, “the cook in the family,” adds that he is looking forward to introducing his House-made herb-balsamic dressing.

Beetlebung’s original retail store will continue to operate on Main St. in Vineyard Haven, the town where the Molinaris and their three children reside.

Beetlebung Menemsha plans to open May 1.
