Coast Guard Searching For Missing Person Near Martha's Vineyard

The Coast Guard is continuing their search for a person who is believed to have gone overboard from a fishing boat bound for New Bedford.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — The Coast Guard is searching for a person who has been missing since early Friday morning somewhere in the waters between Martha's Vineyard and New Bedford.

According to crews, the missing person was last seen with three other people on the commercial fishing boat "Susan Rose" - based out of Point Judith, RI.

The Coast Guard says the crew noticed the person was missing around 1:30 a.m. while they were heading toward New Bedford from the South of the Vineyard and started their search near Nomans Island.

The Coast Guard was notified of a person possibly overboard around 1:39 a.m.

The person's name has not yet been released.
