Commission to Return to Roundabout Issue
In response to number of votes against roundabout this spring, the MVC plans to revisit the issue

At the next meeting, MVC member Lenny Jason, Jr. said he plans to make a motion to rescind the November 2011 roundabout vote. In light of the against the roundabout in five towns this spring, Jason said he feels it’s important to address the issue once again, reported the Martha’s Vineyard Gazette.
This spring 2,558 voters participated in the non-binding referendum vote on whether or not they were for the construction of a roundabout at the four-way stop at the corner of Edgartown Vineyard Haven Road and Barnes Road. Only 635 voters said yes, the other 1,923 voters said no.
“How do we address the fact that in five towns, 70 per cent voted not to do it?” Mr. Jason said, according to the Gazette.
