Five Things You Need to Know Today: November 5

A Flea Market, a Farmers' Market and Bilingual Story Time are all happening today on Martha's Vineyard

1. Come Up-Island to the for an Antiques and Flea Market. Treasures will include collectibles, books, furniture, jewelry and more. Plus, there will some cozy soups and yummy sandwiches. 9 am–2 pm. Free. 508-645-3414.

2. Today is also the second West Tisbury Winter Farmer's Market of the season. Over 25 vendors will be selling locally grown and made winter farm goods. Also on hand will be live music, a warm fire and lunch. Agricultural Hall, West Tisbury. 10 am–1 pm.

3. It’s Bilingual Story time today at the . Hear stories for kids age 3-5 in English and Portuguese with Jane Sampaio. 10:30 am. Free

4. Back at the tonight is the 18th annual Barn Raiser's Ball. Come rock out to music by Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish and celebrate the community raising of the hall. Beverages will be provided. Bring dessert to share. 7:30 pm - 10 pm. Free admission

5. The Martha’s Vineyard Film Society is showing the Italian film The Double Hour tonight. Directed by Giuseppe Capotondi and starring Kseniya Rappoport, Filippo Timi and Antonia Truppo, the story of the cop and the chambermaid promises to keep viewers on edge until its final moments. 7:30pm. Adult: $8.00 MV Film Society Member: $5.00
