Five Things You Need To Know Today: September 17
A walk at Quansoo, a 5K fun run, an A-R-T Party and a pancake breakfast

1. The 11th Annual George Tankard, Jr. Memorial Road Race 5K Walk/Run begins at 10:30 am. If you haven’t already registered, you can do so on race day at the Wesley Hotel from 7 to 10 am. Entry fee $20 day of race. Call 508-367-9053 for more information.
2. Tivoli Day Pancake Breakfast will take place at the beginning at 8 am. All proceeds support the Boston Avon Breast Cancer Walk. $8 for adults and $5 for kids. 508-693-4424
3. Learn about the Island’s history at the Quansoo Farm Exploration that takes place from 1 – 3 pm today. Explore the 146 acres of meadow, field and forest that stretch from the shores of Black Point Pond to the Tisbury Great Pond. Walk and the property with Executive Director Tim Boland and Sheriff’s Meadow Stewardship Director Kristin Fauteux. Cost $15, Polly Hill and Sherriff's Meadow members $10. 4. The MV Museum welcomes the fall with its annual A-R-T Party celebrating treasured Vineyard artists. The event takes place at and will feature the paintings, drawings and photographs of eminent Vineyard artists including: Traeger DiPietro, Paul Karasik, Meg Mercier, Lucy Mitchell, Andrew Moore, Alison Shaw, Kara Taylor, Kenneth Vincent, David Wallis, Allen Whiting, Rez Williams, and Marsha Winsryg. 5. Come to a “mini” book sale hosted by the Friends of the from 1pm-3pm. Proceeds go to children's programs and other library services supported by the Friends. 508-696-4210
