Halloween Nightlife

Where to go this weekend to get your groove and your costume on!

From the very smallest tot to those from beyond the grave, Halloween is one of the Island’s favorite holidays. Grown ghouls and goblins put as much creativity into their annual costumes as the little ones do and the Island bars and clubs come alive with Halloween parties, concerts and, of course, costume contests.

Here are some of this weekend’s parties celebrating All Hallows’ Eve.

Saturday the 29th starts out at ’s Bike Warming Open House Halloween Movie Marathon. The Truck is cooking a scary good Halloween Menu at Om of Motion’s Open House to celebrate their first fall winter season. There will be a Halloween Movie Marathon, so you can pedal your heart out while watching classic Halloween inspired flicks. Screenings are: Rear Window at 2 pm, GhostBusters at 4 pm, the Original Halloween at 6 pm and Rocky Horror Picture Show at 8 pm. DJ Ricky will be spinning old school R&B, Funk and Jazz from 4-7pm. Free and open to the public.

Then, head to Oak Bluffs for BullDog Productions Second Annual Devils Night Dance Party at Seasons. This Dance Party will feature some of the Island’s hottest bands and DJ's including Mercy Beat with Horn Section "Spit", DJ Cuzzin Andrew from San Francisco and MV, Island Thunder SoundSystem out of MV and Jamaica and DJ Matt Kurth from MV.

There will be a Costume Contest with $1,500 in cash and prizes:

1st Place- $500 Cash

2nd Place- $300 Cash

3rd Place - $200 Cash

And Plenty of Runner-Up Prizes. Doors open at 9 pm.

Also in Oak Bluffs, the Halloween Bash and Closing Party at the that starts at 10 pm with prizes and giveaways for best costumes.

Over in Edgartown at , there is quite a line-up of live music. Kodacrome, DCLA, Willy Mason & DJ Cartel will be taking the stage starting at 9. Awards to be given for the best costumes and cover is $10
