Man Caught With About 1,000 Fentanyl Doses At Ferry Dock: Police

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — A Swansea man was arrested Thursday at a Steamship Authority ferry terminal on Martha's vineyard after he was caught with nearly 1,000 bags of fentanyl, Tisbury police said.
Patrick Ryan Doyle was charged with trafficking 10 or more grams of fentanyl and possession of a class B drug with the intent to distribute (cocaine).
Police said they got a warrant and searched Doyle at the terminal in Vineyard Haven. Doyle was caught with 974 wax baggies of fentanyl and a half ounce of cocaine, police said.

"This is approximately 1,000 hits of a deadly substance that could have been distributed throughout the island in a short period of time," Police Chief Christopher Habekost said in a statement. "Undoubtedly, taking these drugs off the street prevented multiple drug overdoses in our community."
