MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — Cape Poge, Wasque and Norton Point Beach on Martha's Vineyard will be closed to oversand vehicles Friday night into Saturday due to forecasts of snow and wind. Forecasts are calling for two to four inches of snow, but winds up to 60 miles per hour and storm tides are forecast to flood the bayside trails.

"Once the storm passes we expect to reopen the trails as soon as possible," the Martha's Vineyard beach trustees said in a notification. "Thanks for your help and let's stay safe."

The National Weather Service has issued a high-wind warning for Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket and Provincetown starting Friday night at 9 and continuing until Saturday at noon. NWS said damaging winds can blow down trees and power lines, with widespread power outages expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles.
