Massive Fire Engulfs Nantucket Bed And Breakfast
The fire broke out at Veranda House early Saturday morning, according to reports.

NANTUCKET, MA — A massive fire tore through Veranda House Bed And Breakfast in Nantucket on Saturday as multiple fire departments worked to extinguish the blaze, according to reports.
Firefighters were notified of the fire shortly after 6:45 a.m., WCVB reported. The flames spread to several other buildings as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
While no civilians were injured, two firefighters were treated for possible heat exhaustion and a third was taken to the hospital for treatment of a back injury.

Video from the scene showed plumes of smoke pouring off the building at 3 Step Lane, which appeared to be completely engulfed in flames. By Saturday afternoon, the building had partially collapsed, according to the Nantucket Current.
The 18-room boutique hotel was completely renovated in 2020, according to Nantucket Resort Collection's website. The building has been deemed a total loss, officials told WCVB.
