Nantucket High School Evacuated After Smoke In Auditorium
Local fire department officials headed to the school to investigate the cause of the smoke, but students were allowed to return to class.
NANTUCKET, MA — Nantucket High School has been evacuated Friday after reports of smoke coming from the school’s auditorium has been reported to local fire officials.
The school is located in the 10 block of Surfside Road and, according to social media posts, first responders from the Nantucket Fire Department were called to the school to investigate.

But, according to local media reports, students were permitted to return to the classroom after the smell of smoke was detected in the auditorium. Firefighters have returned to the station, the report said.
