Nantucket's Cisco Brewers Require Proof Of Vaccination For Entry

NANTUCKET, MA — As COVID-19 numbers continue to climb, local businesses find themselves in difficult positions to help stop the spread of the virus, while trying to operate fully. Cisco Brewers is the latest business to require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to enter the premises.

Cisco Brewers says the new policy is added as an extra precaution and will go into effect on Tuesday, August 10.

People will also be required to wear a mask while indoors, per the island’s Board of Health mandate.

The brewery took to Facebook, giving examples for entry:

- A physical vaccination card (name on the ID must match with the vaccination card).
- A photo of the vaccination card on your phone (name on the ID must match with vaccination card).
- Results of a negative COVID-19 test within the past 72 hours (both antigen and PCR tests will be accepted).

The company added that exceptions will be made for those not eligible for the vaccination.

Cisco Brewers is the second location on the island to require proof of vaccination to enter on Monday alone.

The Chicken Box, a popular venue that hosts live music on Nantucket tweeted Monday that starting Tuesday, all shows will require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for entry.

They added that those who have a ticket to the show and cannot meet the requirements can request a refund.
