The Fabulists Are Back for Another Fabulous Season
It's our must-do kids' event of the week.
Every Saturday morning in the summer, a magical theater comes to life in the woods near Tashmoo. The Fabulists, a group of Vineyard Playhouse actors, have been putting on shows for kids and their families for nearly a decade.
With every performance you can count on tons of witty improvisation and a good amount of fun audience participation. All of the shows take place in the Tisbury Ampitheater, which is an experience itself. Built into a hillside in the woods of the Tashmoo Overlook off State Road in Vineyard Haven, the Ampitheater is a perfect setting for fantasy to take place.
Plays come from adaptations and from new scripts. Each show is performed two weekends in a row with the introduction of a new show every other weekend. This week finishes out the second production of the summer, "ASHPET (An Appalachian Cinderella Tale) and next week the troupe will begin two weeks of performances of "The Seven Headed Snake."
