Jeanne Moreau stars as Catherine, the alluring and willful young woman whose enigmatic smile and passionate nature lure Jules (Oskar Werner) and Jim (Henri Serre) into one of cinema's most captivating romantic triangles.

Searching for Sugar Man - A talented musician from Detroit, who goes simply by the name Rodriguez, cuts a couple of records in the early '70s. They flop; what's new? This is new: They become wild successes in, of all places, South Africa, utterly unbeknownst to the artist, who has disappeared without a trace and is presumed dead. The South Africans believe romantic myths of his demise. But undaunted filmmaker Malik Bendjelloul, seeking the truth about his death, finds more than he bargained for when he uncovers the reclusive artist living modestly, completely unaware of his superstar status hundreds of miles away.

Jimmy Tingle's American Dream - Fun-Raiser for the new Film Center, with Jimmy Tingle-on screen and in person

This benefit, to support the new MV Film Center, will feature Mr. Tingle's terrific in-person performance, a Q&A, and his fabulously funny film. Admission: $35 non-members/$25 members

This captivating, provocative film is a one-hour tour-de-force of comedy, commentary and conversation with some of America's most iconic personalities and social critics, as well as family, friends and total strangers as they speak up and speak out on the American Dream. As Tingle weaves his stand-up comedy career into the fabric of the American Dream, you'll meet Oscar winners and comedians, historians and the homeless as he aspires to make us laugh, to make us think, and encourages us to dream.

The film features interviews and opinions of Robert Altman, Bobcat Goldthwait, Howard Zinn, Mort Sahl, Janeane Garafalo, Sean Hannity, Lewis Black, Al Franken, Robert Reich, Ed Schultz, Colin Quinn, Barry Crimmins, Jimmy's mother, Frances, and more. The soundtrack includes music by Willie Nelson, The Mighty, Mighty Bosstones, The Neighborhoods, and Jimmy Tingle on harmonica.

Tickets for all regularly shown films are $10 for general admission at door only and $7 for MV Film Society members (memberships available at the film center).

To be sensitive to the other retail businesses open at the Tisbury Market Place (TMP) in afternoon and evening, the Martha’s Vineyard Film Society asks that if you are coming to the Film Center for the 3:30 or 7:30 pm screenings - please refrain from parking in front of NET RESULT at the entrance of the TMP or in the spaces directly in front of ROCCO's PIZZA - because they have "take-out" customers that are coming and going. Please try to park in back of the Film Center building first (there are about 30 spaces in back and some along the side buildings (behind Toy Box/barbershop) by turn right past the Net Result as you first drive into the TMP or going right at Mark Hutkers offices at the back of the horseshoe - there are 20 space parallel to the buildings on both sides.
