Woman Lands Plane As Pilot Has Medical Emergency In Martha's Vineyard
The six-seat Piper Meridian Turbo Prop plane crashed Martha's Vineyard Airport at around 3:12 p.m. Saturday, police said.

MARTHA'S VINEYARD, MA — Two people are injured after a woman passenger took over control of a small plane as the pilot suffered a medical emergency near Martha's Vineyard Saturday, the West Tisbury Police Department said in a news release.
The pilot, an 80-year-old man, was dealing with a medical condition as the plane approached the airport before his passenger—a 68-year-old woman—landed the plane on its belly with no landing gear, police said.

The woman had minor injuries, according to police. The pilot was extricated from the plane and med-flighted to Boston for treatment, police said.
The airport is continuing operations which Massachusetts State Police and the FAA are investigating the crash, according to police.
