"Abe Lincoln, Infidel" at First Parish in Medfield

On Sunday, Feb. 10, at Medfield’s First Parish Unitarian-Universalist Church, the Rev. Richard Stower’s sermon title will be “Abe Lincoln, Infidel."

Rev. Stower writes,

“From his youth, Abraham Lincoln had a feeling that his destiny was controlled by some larger force, some Higher Power. He moved away from the orthodox Christianity of his family because of what he saw as the emotional excesses of evangelicalism of Kentucky and Southern Illinois. The sermon will look at Lincoln's religious faith."

Services begin at 10 am.  The First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church is located near the center of Medfield, at 26 North Street, next to Meetinghouse Pond. It serves residents of Medfield, Millis, Medway, Walpole, Norfolk, and surrounding towns.  Child care is available, and there is an active religious education program for children 5-14.
