John A.S. Monks Exhibit at the Historical Society

Taken from the Medfield Historical Society's newsletter:

In conjunction with Medfield Green's Medfield Green Day and the Medfield Memorial Library's Greening Medfield Gala, the Medfield Historical Society is exhibiting a number of works by famed landscape artist John Austin Sands Monks, who eventually became so interested in painting sheep that he dropped his landscape painting altogether.

Come see the society's collection of Monks' works, which include the recently restored "Jack," an oil painting of the beloved dog of Dr. Arthur Mitchell, who saved Dr. Mitchell from drowning, as well as pieces from the Vine Lake Preservation Trust and private collectors.
