High School Students Say, "Thank You, Lord's"

Student Council created a Thank You note for Lord's Department store which will be closing on Feb. 28.

In recognition of the closing of Lord's Department Store, the Medfield High School Student Council created a huge Thank You card to thank the store for its years of support to the schools.

Last week, students and faculty signed the 28x22 sign made of poster board that was, ironically, purchased at Lord's, said Student Council member Blake Brown.

Most of these MHS students have grown up with Lord's one-stop-shopping from birthday cards and gifts, to Medfield sweatshirts and socks, to candy and soda stops on half-days of school. For some students, working at Lord's was their first job.

And the majority of those high school students have been buying their school supplies at Lord's for years.

An annual tradition often noted in the Lord's Memory Book is that of students making the annual trip to Lord's at the end of each summer to purchase their Back to School supply kits.

The store will close on Feb. 28.

A town-wide event will be held on Feb. 15 to recognize the role Lord's has played in the community.
