Police Log: Lights at Main and Spring Streets Not Cycling, More Sick Foxes

The following information was provided by the Medfield Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Sept. 3

10:27 a.m.: A man on Main Street had locked himself out of his car and called police. An officer helped him out.

12:53 p.m.: A sergeant had a Blue Cross Blue Shield health care card turned in to him while he was at Dunkin Donuts. Police searched the name but found no results.

1:19 p.m.: A woman reported her dog ran away. She called back about 20 minutes later to report she had found the dog.

1:37 p.m.: A resident of Erik Road said he had seen a sick fox. The animal control officer responded but the animal had left.

2:32 p.m.: Two people called to report the lights on Main Street, heading left on to Spring Street, were not cycling. An officer responded to handle traffic.

3:15 p.m.: A caller reported a vehicle had struck a tree on Noon Hill Road. The person seemed OK. Police responded. 

5:33 p.m.: A caller reported a gasoline can was set on the traffic island at Hospital Road and Route 27. An officer responded but the can was gone when he arrived.

5:58 p.m.: A woman from Wheelock School turned in a ring she had found in the parking lot.

7:40 p.m.: State Police relayed a call from a woman who had struck a deer on Main Street. An officer responded. The woman was OK and the car had minimal damage.

Wednesday, Sept. 4

9:50 a.m.: A person came in to police headquarters to speak to an officer about an incident that had happened earlier at Blue Moon Bagel Cafe. An officer was going to attempt to speak to the other person involved.

11:41 a.m.: A woman on Larkspur Lane said a sickly fox had run across the street. The animal control officer was notified.

2:05 p.m.: A caller on High Street said a hypodermic syringe had been found on her property. She called twice on 911. A detective responded and removed it.

2:17 p.m.: A woman reported her 6-year-old grandson was missing and had last been seen 15 minutes before. Five officers responded. The child was soon found with his mother.

2:39 p.m.: A motorist on Main and Spring streets told police the lights were not changing all the time. An officer reported this had been reported to the lights technicians two hours prior.

2:45 p.m.: A caller on Flint Locke Lane said a sick looking fox was in the yard. The animal control officer responded but the animal was gone.

4:12 p.m.: A boy with a possible broken arm was taken from Wheelock School to Norwood Hospital.

11:49 p.m.: A woman called to report her 17-year-old daughter was not home, and she should be. The caller was very upset. Police were responding when the daughter came home.

Thursday, Sept. 5

7:29 a.m.: Police took a 28-year-old man into protective custody.
