I have noticed a big problem with the West St light. If you are coming from Millis into Medfield on West St, if it very hard to see the light signals. First, when it is sunny the light is blinding and reflects off the street light making it VERY hard to see. The traffic light is also very hard to see because the light signals are at a weird angle and in a bad location. I would like the town to put in another set of traffic signals for the west street lights. Anyone agree with me?

And other readers identified other troubled traffic areas in town such as Main Street at South and Pleasant Street where gridlock is often a problem.

Patcher Ken Koellner said:

The Main St. (Rt 109) and Pleasant St. intersection and the Main St. (Rt. 109) and South St. intersection need more prominent "Do not block Intersection" signs. They had some on the corners for a while but they need to permanently mount them in the center of the intersection. The gridlock is awful. If cars would just wait where the light is and not pull through intersection until there is enough space on the other side to get ALL the way through, traffic in downtown would flow much more smoothly.

Recently, police started giving verbal warnings for causing gridlock.

Medfield Police Chief Robert Meaney Jr. says there is is a potential $100 fine for “Blocking or Causing Gridlock at an Intersection."
