Good morning, here's five things to know today:

Tufts students were slated to participate in a walkout Wednesday with other Boston-area schools, but instead, students from the Tufts Occupy Boston group set up tables in an effort to recruit participants for student solidarity marchplanned for Oct. 10, Columbus Day, on Boston Common. "We're just really excited about getting as many people as possible," said Lissa Vanderbeck, a senior, about the group's plans for marching on Boston Common.

Somerville police arrested an intoxicated Malden man who was making a scene at the  (a Catholic home on Highland Avenue run by nuns who have taken a vow of hospitality and care for the elderly), according to a police report. Police responded to Little Sisters of The Poor at about 8:57 p.m. on Sept. 28, according to a police report. Once there, they were told an intoxicated male was "running up and down the halls harassing and being belligerent towards the residents," the report says.

Candidates Night: Mayor Michael McGlynn and challenger Anthony D'Antonio answered questions from a three person panel (including myself) at City Hall last night. The nine candidates for school committee also participated in the event, put on by the city's democratic committee. Return to Medford Patch later today for a full story.

Sunny and Cool: It's going to be cool with temperatures around 60 degrees today, according to the National Weather Service. Similar weather is expected tomorrow, and the mercury is expected to soar into the 80s over the weekend.
