Here's some of the recent top headlines from just beyond Medford's city lines.

Workers at the commuter rail maintenance facility in East Somerville were exposed to potential electric shocks, chemical burns, amputation and bloodborne pathogens, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA. The facility was cited for 22 alleged "serious" violations of workplace safety.

in downtown Malden shut it's doors for the last time Tuesday, with owners saying the economic pressures of the recession left them with no choice but to sell the popular restaurant after ten years in the same hands.  “(Only) this past year we thought of selling it,” Iris Pelivani said, while noting that sales had struggled during most of the recession.

Nearly 20 middle-schoolers from  were reportedly infected as zombies and were spotted lurching around downtown Arlington. After boarding the 77 and raising some eyebrows from passengers, they visited , and , acquiring treats referred to by some zombies as "low-fat brains."

Police watched on Sunday afternoon as Frederick Graham allegedly got out of his car at Stop and Shop with a beer in his hand and started urinating in the parking lot. Graham was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and violating open container law.

Massachusetts State Police arrested a Boston homeless man allegedly involved in multiple assaults of women from the Melrose-Stoneham area after he fled into a wooded area Friday morning, according to authorities. Police arrested Thomas Barney, 60, and charged him with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (his foot), disorderly conduct and threat to commit a crime, according to Stoneham Police Lt. Jim McIntyre. Barney also was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Barnstable District Court charging him with defacing property, McIntyre said.
