Capuano in Medford, A New City Councilor, 9 Things Mayor McGlynn Has Outlasted

Congressman Michael Capuano, a Democract who represents Massachusetts' 8th District, spoke to Medford business people Wednesday afternoon at luncheon at Lawrence Memorial Hospital hosted by the Medford Chamber of Commerce. Check out this summary of what he had to say.
Rick Caraviello will be new to the City Council Tuesday, though his face is already a familiar one to many in Medford. Caraviello, 57, previously served as the executive director of the Medford Chamber or Commerce, and has worked extensively with the Medford Kiwanis and Medford Rec Hockey. He placed third in Tuesday's City Council election. "I'm going to be myself - a reasonable, calm voice and do my best for the community," Caraviello said.

There are probably lots more things that could be added, but check out this list of things Mayor Michael McGlynn has outlasted. The commonwealth's longest serving active mayor, McGlynn was elected to his 13th term Tuesday.
4. Remarkable Weather Run Ends: It's going to be a rainy day, according to the National Weather Service. Showers are expected mostly after 11 a.m. and into tonight. Highs in the low 60s.

5. Shopping Night at Brooks School: Handmade crafts, jewelry and baked goods will be just a few of the things for sale at the third annual Shopping Night at Brooks Elementary School tonight from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Over 50 vendors will be on hand.
