Casinos Inch Closer; Malden River Fest Tomorrow

Good morning, here's five things to know today:

1. The house approved a bill that would allow for three casinos and one slot parlor in the Commonwealth, leaving it up to the senate to send the proposal to the governor.

2. The Department of Conservation and Recreation released its draft of the resource management plan in Middlesex Fells Reservation. The plan is available online and the DCR is seeking public comment, which can be emailed to rmp.comments@state.ma.us.

3. This annual festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Rivers Edge Park on Rivers Edge Drive in Medford.

4. Head to Royall Park at 10 a.m. Saturday to take an historic tour of the George Street/College Avenue/Pearl Street/Stearns Avenue neighborhood.

5. Cooling Down: It looks like early fall may have arrived. Sunny skies today with temperatures in the low 60s, with similar weather through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
