: Patti Davis’s battle with the rats began in mid-June, when she spotted one near her Dexter Street home. The next day she spotted another. The next thing she knew, they were jumping out at her while she was watering her lawn. “I had no choice, the were digging under the foundation of my house,” said Davis, who’s lived on Dexter street for five years.

A cab driver was mugged on Highland Ave. near Pearl St. in Malden early Tuesday morning after a couple entered the taxi and covered the driver's head with a bag, Malden police said. The male and female suspect then stole over $100 in cash and fled on foot toward Medford, Lt. David Chalmers said. The incident occurred about 12:50 a.m.
