Man Charged With Trafficking Fentanyl In Medford

Officers seized 17 grams of fentanyl and arrested Alex Rodriguez, of Boston, police said.

MEDFORD, MA – A Boston man was arrested in Medford Friday and charged with trafficking fentanyl. Officers witnessed a drug deal happening after residents alerted the Medford Police Drug Control Unit about possible drug activity in their neighborhood, police said.

Police seized 17 grams of fentanyl and arrested Alex Rodriguez, of Boston. He was charged with distribution of a Class A substance (fentanyl) and trafficking in fentanyl.

The Medford Police Department thanked residents for helping apprehend a suspected drug dealer, calling it a "true representation of community policing."
