Medford Bus Shelter Outfitted to Look Like Foreclosed Home

Bus stop turned into Bank of America protest.

The bus shelter outside Medford Senior Center was outfitted to resemble a foreclosed home Thursday, part of an activist group's protest of Bank of America's foreclosure practices.

The shelter in Medford has its interior walls decorated with posters that look like an abandoned home. A mock foreclosure sign was put in front.

It was one of 13 shelters in the Boston area to be decorated in an effort to bring attention to the impact foreclosures are having on local neighborhoods, according to a press release from Mass Uniting, an activist group that aims to fight for corporate accountability.

“These displays clearly show the kind of damage Bank of America has wrought by forcing thousands of Bay State families out of their homes and onto the streets,” Jason Stephany, spokesman for Mass Uniting, said in a statement. “Until the big banks accept responsibility and help clean up the economic mess they created, they can expect foreclosure victims and allies to keep up the pressure.”
