Medford Native Designs T-Shirt to Benefit Bombing Victims

Kevin Zwirble put his graphic design talents to work; 100 percent of profits will go to One Fund Boston.

Living hundreds of miles away, Medford native Kevin Zwirble had a helpless feeling after the bombings at the Boston Marathon last week.

Zwirble, now a graphic designer living in the Baltimore area, decided to put his talents to use to help those impacted.

All profits from the t-shirt sales will go to the One Fund Boston, Zwirble said in phone interview with Patch Tuesday afternoon.

The design features two sneaker footprints that form a heart, with the date of the bombings etched in one of the footprints. Underneath, there are the words "Boston" and "ONE CITY. ONE HEART."

The bombings deeply impacted Zwirble, who recalled going to watch the marathon with his father for many years while growing up. At MHS, he was a year ahead of Krystle Campbell, the Medford native killed in the bombings, and remembered her from his time there.

"A colleague of mine had done a quick design he put on Facebook for something like this," Zwirble said. "I felt I could come up with some good ideas myself using my design background, and come up with a good slogan."

As of Tuesday afternoon, Zwirble said he'd been able to raise $700 through the t-shirt sales.

"Any little bit helps to do some good," Zwirble said.
